The Hay Team's Favorite Spots In The Delaware Bay Area

Here are some of our favorite spots near the Delaware Bay.

Harpoon Henry's – A favorite “fun” spot for outside eating and drinking right across the street from the Delaware Bay on Beach Drive in North Cape May. Margaritas and awesome sunsets, perfect together! Closed in winter. 609-886-5529

Mel's Place – An updated diner serving good food and lots of it. A popular spot for breakfast and lunch. Doesn't serve dinners.
603 Bayshore Drive, Villas. 609-886-5184

Bella Mangiata Ristorante– Authentic Italian restaurant right in the middle of the Villas. “Locals” rave about the authentic red sauce (gravy) and their gelato (Italian ice cream). 1891 Bayshore Drive, Villas. 609-889-6800

Jake's Bar & Grill – The first restaurant on Bayshore Road to create a “buzz” among the local residents when it opened several years ago. Lunch and dinner are served year round. Bayshore Road and W Delaware Parkway, Villas 609-886-2442

Lucky Bones – Cape May’s newest dining experience. Located just over the bridge into Cape May from the Garden State Parkway, it is a fun happening place where you can eat sandwiches, salads, pizza and other light fare as well as full blown entrées should you choose. The beet and goat cheese salad is fabulous, the salmon exquisite and the hamburgers absolutely awesome, not to mention the latest martini craze – the appletini. Some nights you can even catch music to go with your drinks. Check it out! It’s fun and the prices are Right! 609-884-2663

Robinson's – A deli plus produce market. Known for its homemade coleslaw, potato salad and homemade soups. Their hoagies are a favorite of the fishermen for their all day fishing jaunts. 2408 Bayshore Road, Villas 609-886-3190

Marlboro Market – Located on Route 47. It is a nursery with all kinds of plants, annuals, perennials and shrubs and trees. Inside is a farmers market with great fresh fruit and vegetables. Closed October to April. Rt 47, Green Creek 609-886-2524

Our new Super-Sized WaWa – Now we can get our WaWa coffee “fix” taken care of at the same time we can get the cheapest gasoline in the area. Bayshore Road and Fulling Mill, Villas 609-886-6456

Cape May County Library – A wonderful resource available to those of us who love to read, but don't want to have to buy all the latest bestsellers. Just call them up and tell them what book(s) you want and they'll call you as soon as it is available. 2600 Bayshore Road, Villas 609-886-8999

Villas Car Wash – The new car wash in the center of the Villas which just opened. A sorely-needed addition to the area. Greenwood Avenue and Bayshore Road, Villas

Ace Hardware – Who needs Home Depot or Lowes now that the expanded and enlarged Ace Hardware has opened up? Enter the premises and there is always someone there to personally guide you to exactly what you are looking for. Ace is “definitely the place” to go when you are in a hurry or you need advice. 2410 Bayshore Road, Villas 609-886-2701

The Milky Way – Our favorite destination for soft ice cream. Located on Bayshore Road in the Villas. A miniature golf course is attached to the ice cream stand. A fun place to take the kids after supper for treats and play.
2404 Bayshore Road, Villas 609-889-0077

Boyd's Texas Barbecue Serves a mesquite-smoked barbecue that features turkey, beef, chicken and pork ribs complete with home made potato salad and slaw. It's one of the most popular places in southern Cape May County on Eagle's game days as people come to pick up their “wings” to chow down on during the game.
2301 Bayshore Road, Villas 609-886-0300

The Lobster House - This restaurant may easily be the most popular in Cape May, a city widely-known for its fine dining establishments. The restaurant is famous for its fabulous fish entres. Because it is always busy, it is best to go at off-peak dining times to avoid standing in line. Along with the dining room which serves lunch and dinner, lighter fare is served on the Schooner docked in the harbor next to the restaurant and the Raw Bar where diners can sit outside on the deck at picnic tables. Perhaps our favorite is the popular fish market where we go to get our fresh fish to grill for dinner. It's no wonder that it is the 10th largest grossing restaurant in the country. 609-884-8296

Coffee Court – 104 North Main Street, Cape May Court House – A really neat place for lunch and breakfast. The food is excellent and also reasonable and it is our favorite place to meet friends for Brunch. I’m an especially big fan of the breakfast sausage. Situated half way between the 7 Mile Island and the Delaware Bay, it really is convenient to both. 609-463-8862
